Series 1 of record group 75-69 consists of administrative subject files of the Michigan Dept. of Licensing and Regulation, Board of Nursing for the years 1912-1975. Includes correspondence, legal opinions, guidelines, procedures, and manuals describing the operations of the State Board of Nursing. There are legislative analyses of various bills related to the profession of nursing. Topics of bills are license fees of the profession as well as a comprehensive Nurses Training Act bill. There are Attorney General opinions providing the legal analysis of varied topics such as whether a nurse has the authority to pronounce a patient dead. Also included are manuals and reports from various professional nursing organizations describing the requirements as well as the values of a nursing career.
